Thoughts on the 2008-2009 School Year
- Thursday, May 14, 2009
What a year it has been! God works mightily every year at Naples Christian Academy, but I thought I'd share a few of my personal highlights from the school year:- Working on the ACSI Accreditation by School Improvement with the School Improvement Committee. I had the opportunity to review and provide insight into the writing and design of the document; I also helped to create the presentation. I loved sitting in on the Accreditation Team's meetings with us; they had so many wonderful things to say about our school and the ways in which we accomplish our mission.
- Going on the fourth grade trip to St. Augustine. I had never been there prior to our trip in February, and I loved getting to know some of the fourth grade parents.
- Writing and designing the Annual Report for the 2007-2008 school year. This project is always one of my favorites - our students are so beautiful and God accomplishes so much in His Kingdom through our school community.
- We've gone electronic! The launch of the Naples Christian Academy electronic Parent Connection, the Academy's Blog, our new Facebook group, and our presence on Twitter.
- Watching our middle school students grab hold of leadership principles through the guidance and direction of Mrs. Barner and Miss Karlsson through the student leadership team.
- Partnering with LeaderTreks for our Costa Rica 8th grade mission trip. Our students came home with the tools they need to be effective leaders in high school. www.leadertreks.org
- Seeing students make tremendous strides in mathematics as a result of Saxon Math, increased instructional time, and our faculty member's effective teaching styles.
- God's provision for our campus beautification projects -- new tile in the front hallway and office area, landscaping out in the front of the building, and new paint for the buildings' exteriors.
- Seeing tangible ways in which God has drawn students and families closer to Himself and closer to one another! (I saved the best for last!)
God has given us a great school year at Naples Christian Academy, and I can hardly wait to see what He does during the 2009-2010 school year!

Message from Scott Jones -- Math Night
- Wednesday, May 6, 2009

Math Night was a wonderful success, and the response from participants was outstanding! I believe we accomplished our goals and objectives for this event, and that its format and execution will be used as a model for other schools that seek to provide similar programs. Our expectations in terms of attendance and response from parents were certainly exceeded. When I solicited feedback from students who attended the event, the responses consistently included superlative forms of adjectives. We continue seeking ways to strengthen the home-school partnership and to provide parents with tools to be the primary educators of their children. Thank you to everyone who came out!
