Naples Christian Academy Chess Club

I am very happy to inform you that the Academy is introducing a chess club for grades 1-8. This new activity that will be run by an outside company specializing in teaching chess to students. All instructors must be approved and have a background check completed. The club will be held on Monday afternoons for 12 weeks from 3:15-4:15 pm in Mr. Davison's room. To sign up, please fill out a registration form at the front office.
I believe very strongly in the value of chess, as it contributes to students' thinking and reasoning skills. Although chess is not necessarily an academic subject or pursuit, the skills that students learn by mastering the game translate seamlessly into the classroom as they develop skills necessary for academic excellence. I strongly encourage our parents to consider this as an activity for their students.
